Where have I been?

I have an academic background in both economics and product design and studied at Parsons The New School for Design and the University of New Mexico. Additionally, I completed a one-year course in luxury marketing, branding and communication at the Istituto Europeo di Design in Florence, Italy. Prior to MAIM, I worked in a 360º creative agency in Milan as a photography agent and editor-in-chief of one of Italy’s most widely-read and influential blogs.

Why MA Innovation Management?

Design is sprawling, murky, magical discipline, and despite its rampant misappropriation, its ability to lead to positive change – innovation – remains unequivocal. As a design practitioner in an unconventional sense, I feel strongly that there is a need among both designers and non-designers to be more broadly aware of the big picture: trends, technology, business, politics, culture. MAIM is accordingly an ideal crucible of disciplines, nationalities and perspectives that makes for an enriching cultural and intellectual atmosphere in which ideas are challenged and new understandings are reached.

Nevertheless, while the course invariably broadens perspectives, it also provides an excellent opportunity to dive into deeper problems of innovation. My generalist approach has gradually been reshaped, with my focus now entirely on the built environment, particularly on problems of regeneration, branded environments and co-creation in architecture.

Where am I going?

I plan to pursue an advanced degree in architecture.
